Are You in a Toxic Relationship?

What is a toxic relationship?  I define is as one that is draining an completely robbing you of every beautiful emotion that is associated with the word “love”.   These relationships are hard to identify at times because one could think the relationship is normal.  I made a list of 10 signs that will tell you if you are in a toxic relationship.

Here are some of the signs that you are in a toxic relationship.  

• You are the only one investing time into the relationship
• You feel like you are constantly giving
• You feel starved and lack affection most of the time
• You don’t feel emotionally stable and guilt is your main emotion
• You blame yourself for little arguments, and feel it’s all your fault
• No words of affirmation are ever shared
• Healthy communication is not present in the relationship
• Feeling of anger seems to creep up at times
• The relationship feels more like room-mates
• You feel belittled, unloved and hardly nurtured
• You’ve said to yourself “I can’t wait to get out of this relationship”
• Negative comments are always part of your conversation (when you talk)
• You dread seeing his or her car in the driveway – all the time
• You two never do anything – I mean anything together – you live separate lives (more like room-mates)

If you have checked at least 5 or more of these, I think it’s time to

seriously re-evaluate your current relationship.  These are only

my thoughts and should not be taken as counseling.   I recommend

counseling if you feel that your relationship is in need of help.
